Critik
Hub.
A community-driven music review and discovery platform — rate artists, albums, beats, and videos. AI-powered moderation keeps the discourse clean. A vetted Critik program brings professional voices to the conversation.
Music deserves serious
critical infrastructure
The music internet is full of noise — hot takes, stream counts, and algorithm-driven discovery. CritikHub was built to create a space where music can be evaluated properly: by fans, by professionals, and by an AI that keeps the conversation constructive.
We built a full-stack platform with a two-tier community model: regular users who rate and review, and verified Critiks — music editors, journalists, and academics who go through an application process to earn their status on the platform.
Community + AI +
Professional critics.
Artist & Album Ratings
Users rate artists, albums, beats, and music videos on a structured scoring system. Aggregated scores surface the best work in every genre.
AI Sentiment Analysis
Every review passes through an AI moderation layer that detects and blocks hate speech, toxic content, and bad-faith submissions before they go live.
The Critik Program
A vetted tier of professional reviewers — music editors, journalists, and academics — who apply through a structured workflow and get verified status on the platform.
Critik Application Workflow
A full application and review pipeline for Critik verification: submission form, editorial review, approval or rejection flow, and a public Critik profile on acceptance.
Spotify Playlist Discovery
Users can find and surface quality Spotify playlists through the platform. Curators get discovery without the algorithm gatekeeping their work.
Beat & Video Uploads
Beats can be uploaded directly to the platform or linked from Spotify. Video reviews and music videos connect through YouTube integration.
Integrations that make
the platform work.
CritikHub sits at the intersection of user-generated content, third-party music APIs, and AI moderation. Getting those three systems to work together cleanly was the core engineering challenge.
Our role on
this project.
Community architecture
Designing the two-tier user model — regular community members and verified Critiks — required careful thinking about trust, permissions, and editorial workflow.
AI moderation layer
We implemented sentiment analysis and hate speech detection on every user submission, keeping the platform constructive without heavy manual moderation overhead.
Third-party integrations
Spotify for playlists and beat uploads, YouTube for video content — we wired these APIs into a cohesive platform rather than a patchwork of embeds.
